As you are probably aware, we at The Media Marketing Co are passionate supporters of local and sustainable businesses and activities. We also love our food and drink – not many Marketing Agencies have their own iconic cupcake after all!
As such you probably won’t be surprised to learn that we will be sponsoring the Hungerford Food Festival this year, where all these things come together in a one day event!

The Festival is on Sunday 5th October 10.30 to 4pm. Now in its 9th year, what started as a tiny event at the Rugby Club in Hungerford now takes over the whole of Hungerford high street and fills the town hall for one day every year.
There will be masses of food and drink stalls, providing everything from pizza to curry to gourmet burgers to vegetarian specialities. There will be tastings, cookery demonstrations, and a cookery show with classes to enter, including a kids’ cook off event with Wiltshire chef and author Lucinda Miller.
Other activities include a lemon eating competition for kids and a chilli eating competition for adults. Children will also invited to make their own healthy food creation with staff from Hungerford Nursery.
Sustainability is the theme this year, and there will be information on how to use less plastic and how to make your own compost to the environmental and health benefits of eating venison. Sustainability-focused stalls include Bees Wax wraps and Lonely Lentil’s zero waste pop up stand. In addition, visitors can bring apples to have made in to apple juice at the festival, and children are encouraged to bring along acorns, conkers and any other nuts they might find as they will be able to plant them in pots to hopefully grow in to trees.
Other sponsors include Dove’s Farm, Blandy’s Bistro, who are based at Inglewood in Kintbury, and the Greenham Trust.
“The Hungerford Food Festival is a lovely local event that we have enjoyed helping to grow over the years.” Says Chris Boulton, Chief Executive of Greenham Trust, who are a main sponsor. “It’s great seeing so many local businesses coming together to make it a wonderful day, something we also aspire to helping do more of with the Newbury West Berkshire Economic Development Company”.
Rachel Elmore from Doves Farm said, “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Hungerford Food Festival again this year. It is always a great day for our local foodie community and a true celebration of the wonderful local, seasonal and artisan food that this area has to offer.”
